Parliament Winter Session 2022 : Both Houses adjourned sine die

Parliament Winter Session 2022 : The winter session of the Parliament ended today (December 23), one week before the schedule. Both Houses of Parliament, which commenced session on 7 December, were adjourned sine die. This session saw Lok Sabha holding 13 sittings totalling 62 hours and 42 minutes, and recorded a productivity of 97 per cent. 

The winter session was to end on December 29, but the government says that in the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of both houses, it was unanimously decided to end the session early.  According to Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi, all parties demanded an early end to the session in view of Christmas and New Year.

Bills Passed in Winter Session 2022

As per the data provided by PRS legislative seven bills were passed by both houses during this Parliament Winter Session 2022.

1.The Wild Life (Protection) Amendment Bill, 2021.

2.The Anti-Maritime Piracy Bill, 2019.

3.The Energy Conservation (Amendment) Bill, 2022.

4.The Constitution (Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) Orders (Second Amendment) Bill, 2022.

5. The New Delhi International Arbitration Centre (Amendment) Bill, 2022.

6.The Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Second Amendment) Bill,2022

7. The Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Fourth Amendment) Bill, 2022

Also two of the Bills introduced, the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Bill, 2022, and the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2022, have been referred to
Joint Parliamentary Committees.
