Sharad Pawar resigns as chief of NCP

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar has taken everyone by surprise when he offered to resign on Tuesday. Shri Pawar announced his resignation from the post of President on the occasion of the release of his autobiography at the Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan here. NCP leaders and workers protested against his decision.

He also talked about forming a panel of senior leaders to decide the future course of the party. Expressing dissatisfaction, NCP leaders and workers have demanded Pawar to withdraw this decision. He said that he will not leave the venue of the ceremony until Pawar withdraws the decision.

Former Union Minister and four-time Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Pawar has been instrumental in forming the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance of Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress. And tried hard to bring NCP with Shiv Sena.

On Pawar’s resignation, Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole said that it is difficult to tell for what reason Sharad Pawar has resigned from his post. We used to think that he would fight with an ideology by staying in social and political life till his last breath, but now his decision will not make any difference to the MVA.
