Revanth Reddy to be next CM of Telangana, swearing in on December 7

Revanth Reddy, who led Congress to victory in Telangana, has been formally elected as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party. He will take oath as the next Chief Minister of Telangana on December 7.The Congress high command has approved the name of Revanth Reddy and entrusted him with a big responsibility.

Congress Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal announced that the party high command has appointed Revanth Reddy as the Chief Minister. Revanth Reddy will take oath on Thursday, December 7 at 11 am in the presence of the party high command. Along with him, many more MLAs can also take oath as ministers.

Securing a historic victory in the Telangana Assembly elections, the Congress Party had a thumping victory on 64 out of 119 assembly seats. Whereas BRS has won 38 seats and BJP has won 8 seats. With this, AIMIM has won 7 seats and CPI has won 1 seat.

Political Journey of Revanth Reddy

Revanth Reddy was born in 1969 in Mahabubnagar, undivided Andhra Pradesh. He started his student politics with ABVP. Later he joined Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP. In 2009, he also became MLA from Kodangal in Andhra on TDP ticket. In 2014, he was elected House Leader of TDP in Telangana Assembly.

In 2017, Revanth Reddy joined Congress, however, he lost the assembly elections in 2018. Despite defeat Congress trusted him and gave ticket from Malkajgiri in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, in which he won. In the year 2021, he was made congress state president of Telangana. Under his leadership the Congress Party has created history by registering a thumping victory.
