Parliament Winter Session : The country has rejected negativity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said while addressing the media before the beginning of the Parliament winter session outside the parliament. He said that after such a wonderful mandate, today we are meeting in this new temple of Parliament.

He added that when this new campus was inaugurated, there was a small session and a historic decision was taken. But this time we will get an opportunity to work in this House for a long time.

The Prime Minister said this temple of democracy is a very important platform for people’s aspirations and to further strengthen the foundation of developed India. I urge all the MPs to come with maximum preparation. There should be in-depth discussion on the bills placed in the House. The best suggestions should come because when an MP makes a suggestion, it is connected to the ground reality. That’s why we always urge consideration.

After the thumping majority in the assembly elections PM Modi said, ‘If I say on the basis of current election results, then this is a golden opportunity for my friends sitting in the opposition. Instead of planning to vent out the anger of the defeat in this session, if we learn from this defeat and leave the trend of negativity in the last nine years and move forward with positivity in this session, then the country will change the way it looks at them.

Prime Minister Modi said, ‘Women of all societies and all groups, youth, farmers of every community and society and the poor of my country. These are four important castes whose empowerment, based on concrete plans to ensure their future and based on the principles of reaching out to the last person, get immense support. When supported by good governance and public interest, anti-incumbency becomes irrelevant, he added.

A total of 19 bills are scheduled to be taken up during the Winter Session of Parliament beginning today. These include the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, the Bhartiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, the Chief Election Commissioner and other Election Commissioners (Appointment, Conditions of Service and Term of Office) Bill, The Central Universities (Amendment) Bill, the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill and the Provisional Collection of Taxes Bill 2023.
