CM Yogi directs Energy Minister & officials to ensure no ‘power shortage’ in state

Lucknow : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed his displeasure on the officials regarding the power shortage in Uttar Pradesh. Strictly directing officials on the power cut, he said that whether it is a village or a city, transformers should be replaced immediately if they are defective. Along with this, he further wrote in his tweet that every district should be reviewed every day. The roster should also be followed strictly.

The chief Minister further said that the policy of power system should be implemented with full promptness. During this, he said that 24 hours power supply should be ensured at district headquarters, 22 hours at tehsil headquarters and 18 hours in rural areas. Along with this, he said that the people of the electricity department should redress every complaint received from the areas.

Earlier, Energy Minister AK Sharma, while reviewing the power supply system at Shakti Bhavan, reprimanded the officials.  Expressing displeasure over unexpected power cuts, tripping, improper shutdowns, transformer faults and other disturbances, the minister said that the officers sitting in Shakti Bhavan are not conscious about the electrical works, all are defaming the Energy Department.  Such modus operandi will not be acceptable. The minister instructed the officers for on-the-spot inspection.  Said, unnecessary shutdowns and cuts should be stopped.
