Budget Session: Parliament adjourned for a day amid uproar over Rahul’s Remark. Both the houses could not function even for the fourth day today.  Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha proceedings have been adjourned till 11 am on March 17 due to uproar. While BJP has been attacking Rahul Gandhi’s London statement, Congress said that they are trying to divert attention from Adani issue and demand for JPC inquiry.

As Lok Sabha precedings began today, MPs from the ruling party raised slogans demanding an apology from Rahul Gandhi.  Union Minister Piyush Goyal said that Mr. Gandhi’s comments have brought disrespect to the Parliament and he should apologise.  While Members of Congress, DMK and some other opposition parties came in the middle of the House and demanded a JPC inquiry on the Adani Group.

Amid slogans of apology from ruling party, Congress said that the question of Rahul Gandhi’s apology does not arise, he has not said anything wrong.  He has told the truth that the voice of the public is being suppressed here.  If it is so, then PM Modi should also apologize for the statements given earlier.  The Congress hit back and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also been attacking the Congress during his foreign visits.

During the session today, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla objected to the obstruction in the House.  The proceedings of the house were first adjourned till 2 pm and then for the day.  Same situation prevailed in Rajya Sabha also. Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar did not allow opposition members to move an adjournment motion on Adani Group and other issues. Rajya Sabha proceedings were adjourned for the day as the ruckus continued.
