BJP announces candidate list for Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Polls

Assembly Polls 2024: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday announced candidates for all 60 seats for the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly elections.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu will once again contest elections from Mukto seat. In a press Statement issued by BJP General Secretary Arun Singh, it states that in the Central Election Committee meeting held recently, the names of the candidates for all 60 seats were finalized.

In the 2019 assembly elections, BJP had won 41 of the 60 member assembly seats of Arunachal Pradesh. Janata Dal (United) got seven seats, National People’s Party (NPP) got five, Congress got four, People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) got one and independents got two seats.

Lok Sabha and Assembly elections are expected to be held simultaneously in the state. The tenure of the 60-member assembly of Arunachal Pradesh is going to end in June 2024.
