India enters U19 World Cup Final; Sachin Dhas, Uday Saharan shines

U19 World Cup Final : Team India has reached the final of the Under-19 World Cup. Defending champions India defeated South Africa by two wickets in the semi-final match on Tuesday (February 6). With this victory, the team has made it to the finals for the second consecutive time. They will face Australia or Pakistan on 11 February.

India has reached the final of the Under-19 World Cup for the ninth time. It last won the title in 2022 by defeating England. India has become champion in the years 2000, 2008, 2012, 2018 and 2022. In 2006, 2016 and 2020, they had to face defeat in the final match. Team India is eyeing to win the title for the sixth time this time.

After the fall of four wickets, captain Uday Saharan and Sachin Dhas took charge of the innings and brought the team back. Sachin scored 96 runs on 95 balls. He hit 11 fours and one six. Uday scored 81 runs on 124 balls. He hit six fours.


Sachin was unfortunate and could not score a century. He was out after scoring 96 runs. Saharan was out in the 49th over. Before returning to the pavilion, he had taken the team to the threshold of victory. His wicket fell at the score of 244 runs. From there India had to score only one run to win. Raj Limbani ended the match by hitting a four.

Earlier, Batting first after losing the toss, South Africa scored 244 runs for loss of seven wickets in 50 overs. South Africa had lost two wickets for 46 runs. After this, Lahuan Dre Pretorius along with Richard Seletswane made a partnership of 72 runs for the third wicket. Pretorius played an inning of 76 runs in 102 balls with the help of six fours and three sixes. Then Oliver Whitehead scored 22 runs, Devan Marais scored three runs and captain Euan James scored 24 runs.
