75th Republic Day : India showcases bravery and cultural heritage on Kartavya Path

75th Republic Day : The nation celebrated 75th Republic Day today. The President hoisted the national flag and the national anthem was played and a 21-gun salute was given. French President Emmanuel Macron was the chief guest at the Republic Day parade.

During this, the people present there including Prime Minister Modi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar saluted the tricolor flag. After this the grand parade started on the duty path.

Before the start of the ceremony at Kartavyapath, PM Modi reached the National War Memorial and paid tribute to the brave martyrs. After this, President Draupadi Murmu and the chief guest of Republic Day, along with French President Emmanuel Macron, boarded a special carriage and left Rashtrapati Bhavan to participate in the Republic Day celebrations.

This year, on the occasion of Republic Day in 2024, the theme has been kept as India – Mother of Democracy. Along with this, this time on Republic Day, women are at the center of tableau, parade and theme. Women’s tri-service contingent also marched on the duty path in this parade for the first time.

President Draupadi Murmu reached the duty path in a traditional carriage along with the chief guest, French President Emmanuel Macron. This tradition of coming from Rashtrapati Bhavan by carriage has started again after a gap of 40 years.

25 tableaux from 16 states and union territories were seen in the parade on the duty path. Tableaux of the states and union territories of Arunachal Pradesh, Haryana, Manipur, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Ladakh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Meghalaya, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Telangana were displayed on the duty path.

For the first time, women led tri-service contingents, para-military groups and police contingents. Women personnel of BSF, CRPF and SSB performed stunts riding on 350CC Royal Enfield (Bullet).

51 aircraft of the Air Force took part in the flypast. These included 29 fighter planes, 7 transport aircraft, 9 helicopters and one heritage aircraft. French Army’s Rafale also participated in the flypast for the first time.
