TMC announces 4 candidates for upcoming Rajya Sabha Elections

Rajyasabha Elections : Mamata Banerjee’s party TMC has announced its candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections. The journalist Sagarika Ghosh, Sushmita Dev, Nadimul Haq, Mamta Bala Thakur have been fielded by TMC. Trinamool Congress informed about its decision by sharing a post on social media platform X.

We are pleased to announce the candidature of @sagarikaghose, @SushmitaDevAITC, @MdNadimulHaque6 and Mamata Thakur for the forthcoming Rajya Sabha elections.We extend our heartfelt wishes to them and may they work towards upholding Trinamool’s enduring legacy of indomitable spirit and advocacy for the rights of every Indian.

In Bengal, the tenure of Abir Biswas, Subhashish Chakraborty, Nadimul Haq, Shantanu Sen and Congress’s Abhishek Manu Singhvi  is ending on April 2. Voting for Rajya Sabha seats will take place on February 27.

Elections have been announced for a total of 56 Rajya Sabha seats from 15 states of the country. Voting will take place on 27 February. Of these, five seats are in West Bengal. The number of Trinamool Congress MLAs is 216. On the basis of these, TMC’s victory on four seats is certain. BJP has 67 MLAs and BJP can also win one seat.
