Senior leader and former Union Minister Milind Deora has resigned from the primary membership of Congress. Sharing a post on social media, Milind Deora wrote that today he is ending an important chapter of his political journey.

Milind Deora said on social media ‘X’ , “Today marks the conclusion of a significant chapter in my political journey. I have tendered my resignation from the primary membership of @INCIndia, ending my family’s 55-year relationship with the party. I am grateful to all leaders, colleagues & karyakartas for their unwavering support over the years”.

The speculations about Milind Deora leaving Congress were going on for the past several days. However, earlier he had denied leaving Congress calling it a rumour. Milind Deora had admitted that he is discussing with his supporters, but he has not taken any decision yet. Milind Deora has been contesting from Mumbai’s South Mumbai Lok Sabha seat, but this time under the alliance Shiv Sena (UBT) is staking its claim on the South Mumbai seat. In such a situation, Deora feared that his ticket would be canceled.

Jairam Ramesh has given his reaction on Milind leaving Congress. He said, I recall my long years of association with MURLI Deora ( Milind’s father) with great fondness. He had close friends in all political parties, but was a stalwart Congressman who ALWAYS stood by the Congress party — through thick and thin.
