Kannappa Trailer: Vishnu Manchu’s much-awaited mythological fantasy drama Kannappa is finally set for release later this month. Just ahead of its theatrical debut, the makers have dropped the official trailer, giving viewers a powerful glimpse into the story. The trailer was originally scheduled for release on June 13 but was postponed as a mark of respect following the tragic Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad.
The two-minute-long trailer begins with a young Kannappa hurling a stone at a Shiva linga, portraying his journey from atheism to becoming a staunch devotee of Lord Shiva after encountering Rudra, portrayed by Prabhas. The trailer ends with Kannappa’s awakening to Lord Shiva’s divine power. Filled with intense action and powerful dialogues, the trailer showcases a gripping devotional tale. The YouTube description highlights it as “a powerful retelling of the historic and devotional saga of a simple hunter whose ultimate sacrifice became legend.”
Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, the film draws inspiration from the revered tale of Kannappa, a devotee of Lord Shiva in Hindu mythology. The ensemble cast includes Vishnu Manchu’s father Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Madhoo, Arpit Ranka, Kaushal Manda, Devaraj, Mukesh Rishi, Rahul Madhav, Brahmanandam, Raghu Babu, and Preity Mukhundhan. The film also features special appearances by Akshay Kumar as Lord Shiva, Mohanlal as Kirata, Prabhas as Rudra, and Kajal Aggarwal as Goddess Parvati. After facing several delays, Kannappa is now slated for theatrical release on June 27.
