Tata Group, the parent company of Air India, has declared a compensation of ₹1 crore for the families of each passenger who died in the tragic crash of Flight AI171 near Ahmedabad airport on June 12. The London-bound flight crashed shortly after take-off, sending shockwaves across the nation.
In a statement posted on social media, Tata Group said: “We are deeply anguished by the tragic event involving Air India Flight 171. No words can adequately express the grief we feel at this moment. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost their loved ones, and with those who have been injured.”
Alongside the financial compensation, the group also pledged to cover the medical expenses of all those injured and assured that they would receive the necessary care and support. Tata Group further committed to support the rebuilding of B J Medical College’s hostel, located near the crash site “We remain steadfast in standing with the affected families and communities during this unimaginable time,” the statement added.
In a related effort, Air India has organized special relief flights from Delhi and Mumbai to assist the families of passengers and crew members affected by the crash. These flights aim to support travel and coordination following the tragic incident.
