Csk vs GT : Chennai Super Kings defeated Gujarat Titans by a huge margin in their last match of season. CSK defeated GT by 83 runs. Devon Conway and Dewald Brevis scored brilliant half-centuries for CSK. This defeat had a huge impact on the net run rate of Gujarat Titans, but they are still at the top of the table with 18 points in 14 matches.
Veteran cricketers Conway (52 off 35 balls) and Brevis (57 off 23 balls) hit half-centuries in contrasting fashion. With this, CSK posted a strong score of 230 runs for five wickets. In response to this target, the team of Gujarat Titans was reduced to 147 runs in 18.3 overs. Only six batsmen could reach double figures for Gujarat Titans while Sai Sudarshan was the top scorer with 41 runs.
Chasing the target, Gujarat’s opener Sai Sudarshan made the highest 41 runs while Arshad Khan scored 20, Shahrukh Khan 19, Rahul Tewatia 14, Captain Shubman Gill 13 and Rashid Khan scored 12 runs. Wicketkeeper batsman Jos Buttler and Gerald Coetze were out after scoring five runs. For Gujarat, Anshul Kamboj and Noor Ahmed took the maximum three wickets each while Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets. Whereas, Khaleel Ahmed and Mathisha Pathirana got one wicket each.
To make it to the top two, Gujarat will hope that Royal Challengers Bangalore (17 points) lose to Lucknow Super Giants in the last league match. The winner of the match between Mumbai Indians (16 points) and Punjab Kings (17 points) will move above Gujarat Titans in the table. On the other hand, CSK will finish last in the table for the first time in IPL.
