SRH Vs KKR : Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated defending champion Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 110 runs. Hyderabad ended the season with this victory. In this match played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday, Hyderabad won the toss and batted first and scored 278 runs in 20 overs for the loss of three wickets. This is the third highest score of IPL. In reply, Kolkata was all out for 168 runs in 18.4 overs. Jaydev Unadkat, Ishan Malinga and Harsh Dubey took three wickets each for Sunrisers.
With the help of Klaasen’s century and Travis Head’s half-century, Sunrisers Hyderabad set the target of 279 runs for Kolkata Knight Riders. Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 278 runs in 20 overs by losing three wickets. For them, right-handed batsman Klaasen played the highest unbeaten innings of 105 runs. Travis Head was dismissed after scoring 76 runs in 40 balls. For KKR, Sunil Narine took two wickets and Vaibhav Arora took one wicket.
Chasing the target of 279 runs, Kolkata Knight Riders got the first blow in the fourth over. Sunil Narine was dismissed after scoring 31 runs in 16 balls. Captain Ajinkya Rahane could score only 15 runs in 8 balls. Quinton de Kock was dismissed after scoring 9 runs in 13 balls. Harsh Dubey sent Rinku Singh (9) and Andre Russell (0) to the pavilion. Raghuvanshi could score 14 runs in 18 balls.
Ramandeep Singh scored 13 runs in 5 balls. Manish Pandey scored 37 runs in 23 balls. Vaibhav was run out. Malinga ended Kolkata’s innings by dismissing Harshit. Jaydev, Ishan and Harsh took 3-3 wickets from Hyderabad.
Klaasen has scored the second fastest century of this season. Before him, Rajasthan Royals’ young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi had scored a century in 35 balls against Gujarat Titans. This is also Klaasen’s second century in IPL. With the help of his powerful innings, Sunrisers scored the third highest score in IPL history.
Klaasen hit nine sixes and seven fours in his innings of 39 balls. With this, he became the second batsman to hit the most sixes in a match for Sunrisers. Only Abhishek Sharma is ahead of him, who hit 10 sixes in a match against Punjab Kings this season. A total of 19 sixes were hit in Sunrisers’ innings. This is the second time in the IPL that Klaasen has scored a century while batting at number three.
